‘Mathiyosi’ which is getting ready for release is yet another film set in the backdrop of Madurai. However director Nanda Periyasami has a reason to justify his decision behind choosing the temple town as the movie’s base.

“Because my native is Madurai, it’s the place where I was born and brought up. I wanted to add value to my film as well as my town and hence the decision to make the movie in and around Madurai,” he says.

Starring newcomers Harish, Alex, Gopal and Vishak as heroes and Shammu in the female lead, Nanda Periyasami says, “The movie is about a group of young boys, who lead a happy life until an event that changes all”.

Happy about the feedback he is getting for the movie’s trailer and songs, the filmmaker says, “many of my peers are encouraging me a lot. They are impressed by the music (by Guru Kalyan) and promos. Hope the movie live up to the expectations.”
